I Hate It When We Fight

I hate it when we fight,
when the cord rips and tears
through my skin, how it burns.
How your mood hangs in the air.

Thick. How it pierces the night.

Pregnant with silence. Because,
my one and only singular thought
is to do nothing, but love you.
