If I Played the Part of God

If I played the part of God,
even for the briefest of hours,
I would have done the same.

I would have arranged the stars
and the world for us to meet.
Moving people and parties into action,
just so our wayward paths would cross.

And after all I have seen of us, I know
there are no accidents — this is our fate!
