Dear Readers,
Here’s a post I just shared on my blog:
I take my Freewrite Traveler with me everywhere, including the beach. Because—as a writer—you never know when inspiration will strike.
And just the other day, I was at Jaco Beach in Costa Rica with my wife.
We were enjoying a day trip to the popular beach town. We had been there once while on vacation, but didn’t stay there long our first visit.
So we wanted to return and really enjoy the sun, the sand and the sound of the ocean.
After an hour on the beach, I had totally forgotten about my Freewrite.
I had it packed away safely in a small bag. Then that spark of inspiration hit me and I remembered I had brought it on our trip.
I quickly pulled it out and started typing frantically. My wife watching. Amused. While wave after wave crashed against the shore.
As I sat on a petrified wooden log, one wave came in fast, crashing hard. It splashed up against the log, surprising me, knocking me from my concentration.
Unbeknownst to me, my wife was snapping photo after photo on her iPhone. And she captured quite the memorable shot at the time of impact.
Don’t worry. I reacted quick enough to move the Freewrite from any harm and the device didn’t suffer any water damage.
Besides spending time with my wife, that experience and photo were the highlight of our recent Jaco Beach adventure.
Thanks for reading,
—Alex
